Sustainable development indicators

These indicators provide information on Belgium’s progress towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations: Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The website presents 78 indicators, classified and numbered in accordance with the SDGs. It is accompanied by an annual report – see the 2024 Report. These reports are the continuation of the reports on complementary indicators to the gross domestic product.

These indicators were selected by the Interfederal Statistical Institute – see SDG-I. Using three indicators per SDG, the Federal Planning Bureau assesses for Belgium the trends of indicators towards the SDGs – see the assessment of 51 indicators.
