Natural disaster victims

In 2016, there were 0.02 natural disaster victims per 100,000 persons in Belgium; in 2015, there were 3.64. To achieve the sustainable development goal by 2030, the average over the period 2020-2030 should be lower than the 1.97 average over the period 2005-2015. Due to the erratic nature of natural disasters, it is impossible to determine a trend. It is therefore impossible to assess the number of natural disaster victims.

UN Target 13.1: Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries

UNSTAT Indicator 13.1.2: Number of deaths, missing persons and persons affected by disaster per 100,000 people
