Assessment - Sustainable development indicators

In the Assessment - Sustainable development indicators, the Federal Planning Bureau assesses for Belgium the trends of 34 indicators towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For 17 of these indicators, policy makers have set a target, a precise value to be reached within a determined time frame, by 2030 for most of the SDGs. For the other 17 indicators, the objective only consists in a desired direction.

The assessment result for each indicator is represented by an icon. More information on the assessment method is provided in the 2017 Federal Report on Sustainable Development, available in French and Dutch (see section 2.1).

The 2017 Assessment, made up of 34 sustainable development indicators, can be summarized as follows.
